He Went and Turned 2

My little Urban man went and turned 2 on us. It happened just before Christmas and now we can never take it back. Pretty sure it's the best thing that ever happened to him, and a very sad thing that keeps happening to me.

I guess I have a thing about taking his picture right when he wakes up on his birthdays. Turns out he has never once woken up in his own bed. Hospital. California hotel. Downtown apartment. Makes you wonder where we'll be next year! Good thing that's forever away.

He sleeps in a toddler bed. Eats with grown-up plates, cups, utensils, etc...and not just because I can't find where in the heck they are in our boxes. Is still considered long and lean by doctor standards. Still has many allergies. (We visited our beloved allergist in Phoenix before we left...most of those are types of nuts. Yup. not just peanuts as I had suspected.)

He is still alarmingly smart, in my opinion. We've instituted an afternoon chat - just after story time and right before nap time - wherein we lay on my bed talk about life. I'm always blown away by the things he has to say. Sometimes he asks about "peenix" and how his friends are doing there without him. The conversation usually steers toward "mema" (my mom) who has "pez, cars, and yucky charms (lucky charms)" or "gama" (Landon's mom) who has "coocumbers (cucumbers), suckos (suckers), and tent."

He has to do everything by himself. "NO I do it!" and is very proud of everything he does by himself. "Wook! I did it!" and he loves the word "use". He brings me things and says "use it mommy". haha. and he has the entire holiday set of Charlie Brown movies memorized. ALSO he's a Dr. Seuss fan! He can tell you all about "the sneetches on a beaches" and "geen eggs and am". That's my boy.

Balloons. He loves balloons. We still have a few from his party and he has become obsessively good at throwing it in the air and bumping it around without letting it touch the floor. Or Landon will set it to him and he spikes it.

His throwing skills are also getting better. He can throw it almost all the way across the living room now and right to your hand every time! Landon's dad gets a real kick out of it, so they practice alot. So I guess the debate between soccer or basketball is over. Looking like baseball. bluh.

Anyway, here are some party pics. We had one huge party with both of our families at Landon's parent's house. Elmo cake and decor. Urban's pick.

Not sure what else I wanted to say. He's amazing. He's mine all mine. I have to share him alot more now, but our relationship is still hanging strong. I love him to death.

I would appreciate if you could use your mad photoshop skills and add us in these pictures. ; ) Looks like Urban had a great birthday! He is getting cuter and cuter every day! My baby turns 7 next week. Yes, 7. :( I keep bribing them to stop growing and getting older but so far they aren't taking the bait.
