Changing the Subject

Enough about moving already...let's talk about something else for a while. What's that? You wanna talk about Urban? Sure! I can talk about that for hours :)

Urban is only one month away from the big 2! And he really is a genius of a child. I've always thought so, starting when he knew all of his shapes by 11 months old and could stick them into their corresponding shape holes on the first try every time. But I just kept telling myself that every mother thinks that way about their child.

Then he got all preoccupied with walking and talking and vacuuming and forgot all about his love of the ABC's and counting and all of that smart kid stuff. And I felt like all of my teaching time had gone in the garbage and was thrown out with the diapers.

Then driving home from stake conference last Sunday I randomly turned around and asked Urban if he could count, to which he responded, "one, tew, fwee, foe, fie, six!" and it's a good thing Landon was driving or I would have crashed the car. Crazy! Then a few days ago he went all the way to 10! "...six, sen, eight, nie, ten!" you go boy.

He has also started singing the entire song of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star: "tinko tinko witto stah how I wuno what you ah" etc. And it blows me away! He also sings Head Shoulders Knees and Toes, Row Row Row Your Boat, and a variety of songs from that same genre. We might have to record an album here soon. In fact, here's a sneak peak of his first single we recorded last month:

I love how he always says "duck" for what's on the farm.

His sentences are getting better and better. OH! and now I'm just "mom" in front of his friends and "mommy" when nobody is around. So sad. Oh well. It had to happen someday.

He has also really come out of his shell this month. He now loves going to nursery. He wanted us to go away when we picked him up from his friends house yesterday. And he will finally play with his friends without me having to be in the same room. Yay for that! But I'm already starting to miss him :(

Here's a fun picture of him with one of his best friends, Jack

This poor guy is really going to miss his friends:

Nanany (Natalie), ee-ruh (Hyrum), Jack (Jack)

Gee (Gray) and Ky-yo (Kyle)
