It’s been hard to get Urban talking on video. He just goes mute when the camera comes out…or when we’re trying to get him to talk to someone on the phone. (Not a fake phone of course. He could talk on one of those all day.) So yesterday I finally got in touch with his agent and offered to pay him 5 m&ms for answering a few questions on camera.
Here is exclusive coverage of Urban’s first interview. Find out what makes him laugh and who he loves the most!
Too fun. We have never been able to get him to say “I love you.” He just walks around the house saying “I uh me!” I forgot to ask him to say some of my other favorites. I love when he gets tired of walking, raises both hands in the air and says “help me.” Or when I put him in his car seat and he says “ow” because it’s hot. Or when he spills anything he says “uh oh” and runs and grabs a towel to clean it up.
He is officially 21 months old today, which means he can drink, gamble, and get into the good clubs. And by that I mean: drink from cups without sippy lids on them, gamble that he won’t have to go to bed as long as he’s being really good, and he finally stayed in nursery the entire time last Sunday (which I think is a really good club).
His newest thing is eating at the big table with us. No more highchair. Except at breakfast. I don’t know why he’ll eat there at breakfast, but for lunch and dinner he climbs into a big chair and actually seems to spill less. So no complaints here.
He also prefers sleeping on the guest bed. He hates his crib now with a fiery passion (unless he’s playing launch the soccer ball with Dad) so we’ve given up a few nights and let him sleep in the guest bed. I actually really like it because he gets himself out in the morning and sits by my bed or just plays around the house til I get up. But we can’t turn his crib into a toddler bed just yet because we have to get him to sleep without a binky first…and that’s going to be a whole lota hard.
Hmmm...what else. He loves having his friends over to play and is even willing to share his vacuum and puppy now. He enjoys eating out and pushing the cart around the grocery store. He’s working hard on his jumping skills and loves a good climbing challenge.
He finally outgrew his size 4 shoes and seems to be quickly outgrowing size 5. He could also probably be in size 4 diapers, but size 3 still works and we’ve got a lot left.
On a sad note, we lost his super cool Chopper sunglasses :( but his new ones are pretty cool too.
He’s getting better and better at singing his ABC's and has to pick what we listen to on the car radio. Oh…and he’s started to pick what he wears. He says “no” over and over again until I pull something out of the closet that he says “yes” to. So most days he ends up in green plaid shorts and a shirt that doesn’t match at all. And his old navy flip flops :)
Basically…WE LOVE HIM! He’s always giving us big hugs and kisses and loves doing whatever we do as long as we are together.
